Lianna Miller is now majority owner of Trisight LLC, making the company a certified Woman Owned Business.
The company was founded in 2013 when Dr. Amlan Mukherjee, Associate Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan Tech, decided to commercialize his research.
After completing the SmartStart program, Amlan brought on Michigan Tech Alums Lianna Miller (’06) and Dr. Benjamin Ciavola (’14) as full-time managing partners. Five years later, the team restructured their ownership to reflect the contributions of Lianna and Ben to the growth of the company, as well as to strategically align to market opportunities.
“We’re a diverse team and we wanted our ownership to reflect that,” said Lianna. The rebalance will also allow the company to take advantage of the federal programs available to Women Owned Businesses.
