HOUGHTON, Michigan (January 10, 2014) – MTEC SmartZone welcomes successful Upper Peninsula biomedical business executive, Dan Webber, to the Board of Directors.
Webber previously held top positions as President and CEO with Pioneer Surgical Technology, an international medical device manufacturer located in Marquette, Michigan. He recently led Pioneer in a strategic sale for $130 million.
MTEC SmartZone Board President and Hancock City Manager Glenn Anderson said the addition of Webber brings significant business experience with key industry knowledge in life sciences, a strategic priority for future job growth programs of MTEC SmartZone.
“He understands key challenges entrepreneurs face in growing a technology company in the region, and will be a great resource to assist many start-up businesses, in addition to promoting objectives of the board in this area,” Anderson said.
