university development center associated with Michigan Tech. Located in the new
business accelerator space of the former UPPCO building in downtown Houghton, Ford
is working with a strong pool of Michigan Tech student engineers to develop support
information systems for the global corporation.
GE Aviation, an operating unit of General Electric Company (NYSE: GE), is a world-leading
provider of commercial and military jet engines and components as well as integrated
digital, electric power, and mechanical systems for aircraft. GE Aviation also has
a global service network to support these offerings.

Through collaboration with Michigan Technological University, MTEC SmartZone and
community and state officials, this center creates a strong pool of emerging engineers
to provide design and development services for aerospace programs. The staff performs
various engineering services including software development, verification and validation,
mechanical design and hardware design.
