Dematic, MTEC SmartZone tenant, grows services and jobs in the U.S. with software product

HOUGHTON, Michigan (March 26, 2014) – Dematic, a global supplier of material-handling systems for factory and distribution centers, has maintained a satellite office at MTEC SmartZone’s Lakeshore Center since May 2012. The Houghton location employs five Michigan Technological University student interns and 10 full-time staff who support Dematic’s research and development functions at its North America headquarters in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Among major corporations that utilize Dematic’s distribution systems are Amazon, Walmart, Walgreens, Abercrombie & Fitch and Toys “R” Us.
