HOUGHTON, Michigan (March 1, 2012) – In 2009, MTEC SmartZone received grant money from the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) for the renovation and redesign of Michigan Tech’s Lakeshore Center. MTEC SmartZone, the first floor tenant of the building, worked closely with U.P. Engineers & Architects to ensure the 2010 building renovation was as “green” as possible, based on a contingency for the grant monies.

Today, the check was presented to MTEC SmartZone Board of Directors and CEO, Marilyn Clark.

HOUGHTON, Michigan (November 8, 2011) – The annual Bob Mark Memorial Elevator Pitch Competition will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011, in Fisher 139 on the campus of Michigan Technological University. The deadline to register is this Friday, November 11. The competition is open to both Michigan Tech and Finlandia University students.
HANCOCK, Michigan (November 7, 2011) – The Entrepreneur Support Center (ESC) opened last spring to provide local entrepreneurs with an office and mentors to guide them. The ESC, located on the sixth floor of the Jutila Center, was made possible through a Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) grant and collaboration between MTEC SmartZone and Finlandia University business incubators.
